Raymond Moretti's Rainbow-Colored Chimney in Paris

In Paris' affluent district of La Défense, you will discover the absolute most wonderful bits of present day symbolization. Inside a region of 400 acres, there are more than 60 statues, models and landmarks outlined by specialists, for example, Louis-Ernest Barrias and Alexander Calder. One landmark that sticks out like a giant stick of confection is the splendidly hued tower called Cheminée Moretti or essentially as Le Moretti.

It is a 32-meters high smokestack wearing beautiful strands of fiberglass. Le Moretti is made out of 672 fiberglass tubes with a measurement running from 2 to 30 cm painted in 19 separate colors. The fiberglass tubes run an aggregate length of 22 km and weighs of 27.5 tons. These tubes cover the whole external surface of the fireplace. During the evening, the stack is lit by floodlights, permitting it to be reflected in the windows of the encompassing structures.

The work is spotted in the district of La Défense between structures Neuilly Defense and Manhattan Square. The structure was finished in 1990 and introduced in 1995.

Witley Park’s Underwater Ballroom

Between Godalming and Haslemere, in Surrey, near the English village of Witley, once stood one of the most lavish private residences in the world —the Witley Park. Originally called Lea Park, it belonged to a man named Whitaker Wright who made his fortune by defrauding shareholders of hundreds of million pounds —not once, but twice in two different continents. At the peak of his financial crimes, Wright bought the vast 1,400-acre Victorian estate from the 15th Earl of Derby and built an extravagant 32-bedroom mansion, among other things like a racecourse, a theater and a private hospital.

11 Foot 8 Inches: The Infamous ‘Can Opener’ Bridge

At 11 foot 8 inches, the Norfolk Southern–Gregson Street Overpass, located in Durham, North Carolina, United States, is a bit too short. The federal government recommends that bridges on public roads should have a clearance of at least 14 feet. But when this railroad trestle was built in the 1940s, there were no standards for minimum clearance. As a result, trucks would frequently hit the bridge and get its roof scrapped off.
