Trolltunga: Crazy Rock in Norwegian Horizontally Hangs Out of Mountain

From mid-June to mid-September, take a journey to Norwegian to check out Trolltunga, a massive part of rock that hangs horizontally out of a hill over 50 percent a distance off the floor. The roundtrip increase will take you between 8 to 10 hours but it's well value the journey because the perspective is nothing brief of amazing. One of the most amazing picturesque cliffs in Norwegian, Trolltunga results in "The Troll's Tongue" because of its unusual, jutting form.

The high cliff was established during the ice age, roughly 10,000 decades ago, when glacial water froze large sections of the hill and then split off. This remaining an extremely strange-looking rock outcropping. A large number of guests come each season to sit "on top around the globe," and with no safety rails to block their perspective, or their drop, Trolltunga is one of those "bucket list" encounters that's not for the inexperienced.

Originally called Lea Park, it belonged to a man named Whitaker Wright who made his fortune by defrauding shareholders of hundreds of million pounds —not once, but twice in two different continents. At the peak of his financial crimes, Wright bought the vast 1,400-acre Victorian estate from the 15th Earl of Derby and built an extravagant 32-bedroom mansion, among other things like a racecourse, a theater and a private hospital.

11 Foot 8 Inches: The Infamous ‘Can Opener’ Bridge

At 11 foot 8 inches, the Norfolk Southern–Gregson Street Overpass, located in Durham, North Carolina, United States, is a bit too short. The federal government recommends that bridges on public roads should have a clearance of at least 14 feet. But when this railroad trestle was built in the 1940s, there were no standards for minimum clearance. As a result, trucks would frequently hit the bridge and get its roof scrapped off.
