Hong Kong’s amazing sky line and high rises must have been taken by countless numbers and from every position possible. But France specialist and photographer Romain Jacquet-Lagrèze has a completely new viewpoint. Directing his digital camera towards the sky, Jacquet-Lagrèze taken these vertigo causing views, featuring the geometrical styles of the most wonderful skyscraper town, which he explains as a "race to the sky", in his picture collection Vertical Horizon.
“It’s easy to get a measure of a building from afar, but you can’t really appreciate a towering city structure until you’ve craned your neck up the length of its spine, admiring the way its reflective edges seem to scrape the sky,” said the photographer. "The project is a deep immersion into the city’s thick atmospheres and a visual record of its wildly diverse built environment. This book is like a contemplative dive into the raw nature of Hong Kong and an expression of its vertical élan."
A Experts in multi-media and art from Eastern Paris University, Mr Jacquet-Lagrèze has taken places such as Los Angeles, Tokyo, and now Hong Kong. Jacquet-Lagreze says it’s the geometry of the city atmosphere and the stunning lifestyles it offers which inspires him most.
