French street specialist OakOak transforms street things, symptoms and other furnishings around his local city of St Etienne, France, into entertaining street art. His work often contains popular lifestyle sources, animated, video clip gaming and his area. Inexperienced in artwork or excellent art of any kind, he instead uses stencils, colour, and sometimes sticky superheros to give new significance to simple breaks in the floor or failing building facades.
"I like this city, her atmosphere" OakOak says of Saint Etienne "and I wanted it to look nicer. It was an industrial city with many coal mines; now it's in regeneration and still quite poor. But it's easily travelled by foot with awkward aspects ideal for art. I saw shapes everywhere, and wanted to realise them."
