Discovering Balance in the Most Unsymmetrical Forms


In Decorative mirrors, photographer Traci Griffin discovers symmetry in the most unsymmetrical types. Concentrating particularly on tree branches and hair, Griffin catches the many offshoots and departments that normally happen as long hair flows down or a shrub under increases and develops. The specialist then separates the picture in half and shows it upon itself, providing the impact that each item is a completely arranged and replicated expression of itself.

Griffin describes her inspiration for the project:

"I learned that exact symmetry cannot be found in nature and allegedly the concept of symmetry in the universe has tormented famous philosophers for centuries. Perhaps this is why the images are slightly disconcerting. Personally, this project for me is simply about seeing something completely different in something so ordinary. It leaves you with a sense of wonderment and the possibility of a brand new synthesis.”
