Toshiba Declares 13 Super Pixel, 1.12 Micrometer, CMOS Picture Indicator With Shade Disturbance Decrease That Enhances Picture Quality
Company's new CMOS image sensor created with on-circuit color noise reduction decreases pixel noise and improves image excellent on cellular phones, cellular devices
Toshiba The united states Electronic Elements, Inc. (TAEC)*, a dedicated innovator that works with technological advancement companies to create cutting-edge styles, declared a new 13 mega pixel, 1.12 micrometer, CMOS image sensor providing high-image excellent comparative to a 1.4 micrometer pixel image sensor. Toshiba applied back side lighting (BSI) technological advancement and incorporated color noise reduction (CNR) to develop its latest CMOS image sensor that suits into an 8.5mm x 8.5mm dimension camera component and allows high-quality images even in low-light circumstances.
"As mobile devices like smartphones and tablets get smaller and thinner, the pixel size of image sensors needs to shrink accordingly," said Andrew Burt, vice president of the Analog and Imaging Business Unit, System LSI Group at TAEC. "However, the miniaturization of pixel size reduces the amount of light entering into the pixel which impacts image quality. Toshiba addresses the challenge of pixel miniaturization with its newest CMOS image sensor."
The miniaturization of pixel dimension effects performance of mild understanding and indication to noise rate (SNR) in modern 1.12 micrometer pixel image receptors. BSI technological advancement helps improve understanding, but fails to provide on increasing image excellent. Utilizing its advancement and technological advancement skills, Toshiba developed its latest CMOS image sensor with BSI and CNR incorporated on the sensor to address both low-light understanding and SNR. As a result, the Toshiba CMOS image sensor provides roughly 1 ½ times higher SNR value1 than a 1.12 micrometer pixel image sensor with no CNR feature enabling producers to provide products with high-quality visuals, even in low-light circumstances.
