These unusual photos by Ben Cooper catch the Journey Outdoor (cockpit) of the Space Shuttle Effort, fully operated for one of the ultimate times. Just a few weeks later, at 9:58am EDT on May 11, Effort was operated down for the ultimate time in history. It was the last of the three space shuttles to have power.
Ben Cooper is freelance/media digital photographer and former NASA digital photographer currently based out of Daytona Beach, California, and providing the Central & North California area, such as Cpe Canaveral. He has covered releases and other events at Cpe Canaveral and the Kennedy Area Middle since September 1999, and captured over 100 tasks and releases to date.
For the ultimate few years of the Space Shuttle program, he captured for NASA and held a position on NASA’s photo and technological innovation picture team at the Kennedy Area Middle & Cpe Canaveral Air Force Place. Work included mission-critical visuals of the shuttle’s external and orbiter flooring that assured a safe objective of the place shuttle on every flight, as well as public matters visuals for submission by NASA and a multitude of images and prize events.
