Panasonic states quartet of Cyber-shot cameras, boasts of sleek profiles and tough skin

With the ability to deliver impressive, high-resolution pictures while under the sea, outside or inside, during both day and night, Sony's sleek new line of Cyber-shots represent the ultimate in adaptability for the lightweight electronic camera space. Four new designs declared today involve the DSC-WX150, DSC-W690, DSC-TX66 and DSC-TX20 designs.

The DSC-WX150 and DSC-W690 designs are the slimest 10x eye zoom performance contact electronic cameras – thinner than any other 10x lightweight electronic cameras currently offered in market (measured at thinnest part eliminating lens). This extremely sleek style is largely assigned to the new "Advanced Aspherical" contact factor, which allows the contact unit to be considerably smaller than those in previous 10x zoom performance contact Cyber-shots while still producing very highly specific, accurate pictures.

The new TX66 electronic camera functions an ultra-slim, front-sliding style and measures about 12.2 mm (excluding contact cover), which is about the width of a standard AA size battery. The similarly sleek TX20 electronic camera is Sony's most "rugged" lightweight electronic camera offering -- water resistant (up to 5m or 16ft), dustproof, shockproof (up to 1.5m or 5 ft) and freezeproof (up to 14 levels F).

Each of the new WX150 ,TX66 and TX20 electronic cameras functions a high-resolution "Exmor R" CMOS indicator and innovative BIONZ® image processor, enhancing low-light performance, Auto Focus connections, image leveling and opening up various multi-shot abilities such as 10 fps burst method, "Background Defocus" method, 3D still image firing and more. These designs also have "Dual Record" performance for acquiring high-resolution still pictures while firing film, and "Clear Image Zoom" zoom performance contact technological innovation, which increases eye zoom performance contact to 2x exclusive performance (i.e. 5x eye zoom performance contact to 10x exclusive zoom) at complete electronic camera image resolution.

Each of the new designs can shoot complete HD film (at various resolutions) and offer "Picture Effect" alternatives for innovative photography.

Witley Park’s Underwater Ballroom

Between Godalming and Haslemere, in Surrey, near the English village of Witley, once stood one of the most lavish private residences in the world —the Witley Park. Originally called Lea Park, it belonged to a man named Whitaker Wright who made his fortune by defrauding shareholders of hundreds of million pounds —not once, but twice in two different continents. At the peak of his financial crimes, Wright bought the vast 1,400-acre Victorian estate from the 15th Earl of Derby and built an extravagant 32-bedroom mansion, among other things like a racecourse, a theater and a private hospital.

11 Foot 8 Inches: The Infamous ‘Can Opener’ Bridge

At 11 foot 8 inches, the Norfolk Southern–Gregson Street Overpass, located in Durham, North Carolina, United States, is a bit too short. The federal government recommends that bridges on public roads should have a clearance of at least 14 feet. But when this railroad trestle was built in the 1940s, there were no standards for minimum clearance. As a result, trucks would frequently hit the bridge and get its roof scrapped off.
