Hyunsoo Song developer has proposed an alternative to this so-called Amoeba modular USB key, but allows you to sort your data on each disk that can be used independently or together as both a large disk. The idea there is that you can keep the discs as well as most of the time, and just take the relevant section if you want to share photos or videos with anyone. The purpose of the voyages were to project Chinese power and wealth to the outside world, as well as to establish imperial control over the maritime trade.
