Secure bicycling paths to appear on Google for the first time

Finding a good path to journey your bike is set to be simpler than ever as bicycling paths are made available on UK Google Charts for at the first try today at 5pm [Wednesday 11 July], following cooperation between charitable organisation Sustrans and Google.
In a ground-breaking move for bikers and would-be bikers, National Pattern System paths across the UK can now be sailed on the internet using a new bike icon on Google Charts, together with the options of generating, trains and buses and strolling.

Cyclists can now plan their visits, make use of bike shelves, determine cycle-friendly paths that prevent big mountains and personalize the map for bicycling on smartphones and computer systems.

The growth follows news of the greatest ever increase in use of National Pattern System – the nationwide system of off-road cycle routes and silent roads for safe bicycling – this year.

Sustrans is labels the event with the discharge of new movie, 'Lucy's Riding a motorcycle Value Hunt', heralding the on the internet applying as a new beginning. View the movie HERE.

Sustrans' Primary Professional, Malcolm Shepherd said;
"Safety is the number one issue for people who want to journey their motorbikes and now it's simpler than ever to discover the most secure way to get from a to b on two tires.

"Google has given bicycling equivalent position to generating and using trains and buses – we need our political figures and local local authorities to do the same."

Ed Parsons, geospatial technologist at Google UK said:
"We know how popular bicycling is in London, uk and the rest of the UK, especially prior to a active summer, which is why we are excited to bring bicycling guidelines to Google Charts.

"Thanks to Sustrans, we now have a large number of kilometers of paths and paths, as well as bike shelves and suggested roads for places across the country.

"We'll continue to add new pathway information and encourage individuals to exchange their car for a motorcycle as they can now discover a practical path that makes use of devoted bike paths and prevent mountains whenever possible."
