Lake Retba, also known as Le Lac Increased (Rose Lake in French), is an uncommon and wonderful vision to observe. With regards to the time of day, the river changes color from a light green to an in-depth scarlet lilac. The uncommon colors of the water is due to simple halophilic viruses that flourish in the lake’s high-salinity atmosphere.
Covering an area of about 3 sq km, the river is situated about 35km north-east of Senegal’s investment Dakar.
