3DTV gets a increase with new ITU-R Recommendations

Programming, image and watching relaxation to be enhanced
New ITU Suggestions on 3DTV will offer much needed resources to assess, create, and return 3DTV programs. Designed to advertise the further use of this structure globally, the new Suggestions are being published to Companies for faster acceptance.

ITU's Radiocommunication Industry (ITU-R) has designed the aspects – or Suggestions – together with professionals from the tv industry, delivering companies and regulating companies in its Research Team 6.

3DTV: A major jump forward
The ITU-R Suggestions focus on 3DTV program growth and delivering in the two types that are in use worldwide: the '720p' and the '1080i/p HDTV' conditions. Suggestions were also decided on the digital connections used in companies for 3DTV program growth, and on the common specifications for 3DTV.

ITU-R Research Team 6 also decided a Suggestions for the methods to assess the excellent of 3DTV pictures, which concerns three aspects, or excellent factors: image, level, and relaxation levels.
ITU Secretary-General Hamadoun Touré indicated his fulfillment with the continuous growth of the 3DTV structure in ITU's Radiocommunication Industry. "3DTV has made a huge effect on TV visitors all over the group and led to new improvements and possibilities in the transmitted and developing areas," Dr Touré said. "The new ITU-R Suggestions will offer fresh strength to this interesting tv structure."

David Wooden, Chairman of ITU-R Operating Party 6C (WP 6C), said, "These Suggestions will be of great value to those who create and spread 3DTV programs today and later on. They will create the 3DTV group more comfortable for the press group, and will absolutely motivate the achievements and further growth of 3DTV."

Christoph Dosch, Chairman of ITU-R Research Team 6 added, "This package of Suggestions features the synchronized perform of professionals from various professions family interaction in the ITU Research Team.
